Nice to meet you! My name is Hayden Phillips, and I am one of the co-founders and the acting CEO at OFFBEND Studios. I’m thrilled to share a little about our journey and why OFFBEND came to be.

When we started OFFBEND, we knew one thing for sure: we love movies and are passionate about creating more of the kind that truly resonate with audiences. Today, we have an incredible opportunity to bring those stories to life.

There’s a narrative out there that film is dying, that people have lost interest in going to the movies. But I strongly disagree. Recent blockbusters like Oppenheimer and Barbie drew massive crowds in 2023, and the box office numbers soared. This year, Twisters has hit huge box office numbers, and Inside Out 2 is breaking records as the highest-grossing animated film ever.

Film isn’t dead at all. Audiences are simply tired of the same old corporate, regurgitated media—the archetypal stories with slightly altered characters, the “safe” choices. Where’s the originality? Where’s the innovation? Novel ideas are vital for success in film, a medium that thrives on creativity and fresh perspectives.

At OFFBEND, we’re doing things differently. We’re building our stories from the ground up, inspired by audience preferences and our own experiences as passionate moviegoers. Unlike large corporations focused solely on profits, we see films as opportunities to innovate and captivate. For us, storytelling is at the heart of every project we undertake. The money is just a means to create more groundbreaking films and improve with each endeavor.
